Rules

From Takashima RP Wiki

Rules & Information

Welcome to Takashima RP (TRP). These rules exist to keep the SandboxRP environment fair, immersive, and enjoyable for everyone.

Unlike many roleplay servers, TRP is entirely player-driven: businesses, politics, law, and even crime are run by the community. Because of this, the rules serve more as a framework for realism and fair play rather than rigid restrictions.

Breaking these rules may result in sanctions ranging from warnings to permanent removal from the community. Rules marked as major violations can lead to immediate and severe punishment.

Terminology

This section lists the most common terms and abbreviations used in Takashima RP (TRP). Understanding them will help you follow staff instructions, communicate with other players, and keep roleplay consistent.

IC (In-Character)
Anything your character says, does, or experiences inside the world of TRP. IC is your character’s reality.
OOC (Out-of-Character)
Communication or actions outside of your character. This includes global OOC chat, Discord, or speaking as yourself rather than as your character.
LOOC (Local Out-of-Character)
Short OOC chat visible only to nearby players (used for clarifications, quick questions, or coordination).
Metagaming
Using OOC information in IC situations. For example: acting on knowledge you read in Discord or on the wiki that your character has no way of knowing in-game.
Powergaming
Forcing actions on another player without giving them a chance to respond, or performing unrealistic, overpowered actions.
Godmodding
Portraying your character as invincible or superhuman (e.g. dodging every attack, ignoring injuries, or having abilities that break immersion).
FailRP
Roleplay that breaks immersion or realism. Example: treating severe injuries as minor, or behaving in a way no real person would in a given situation.
AvoidRP
Escaping or preventing a roleplay situation unfairly (logging off to avoid arrest, hiding in safezones, or refusing to engage when consequences are due).
FearRP
Acting with realistic fear of consequences. Example: your character should fear weapons, police authority, or dangerous situations instead of ignoring them.
Void / Voiding
Cancelling an RP situation as if it never happened. Voiding is typically done by staff if a rule is broken or if all parties agree.
F2B (Fade to Black)
Skipping or summarizing a scene instead of playing it out in detail. Example: skipping the exact details of a long surgery, or ending a scene early with everyone’s consent.
ERP (Erotic Roleplay)
Roleplay involving sexual or erotic content. Usually forbidden in public RP servers due to maturity concerns and lack of consent frameworks.
Permissions
Special allowances for escalating RP (assault, kidnapping, mugging, injuries, or kill perms). These are governed by the permissions section of the rules.
SandboxRP
The philosophy of TRP: a fully player-driven roleplay environment without NPCs controlling progression. Businesses, politics, crime, and institutions are all run by players.
Faction
An out-of-character framework (e.g. Crime, Business, EMS, Education, Public Administration, Clergy) that regulates how in-character groups are recognized and managed.

Community & Player Conduct

This section defines the standards of behavior expected from all players in Takashima RP (TRP). These rules apply both in-game and on all TRP-related platforms (Discord, forums, wiki, IC social media, etc.).

Article 1 — Respect & Inclusivity

  1. All players must treat others with respect.
  2. Discrimination or harassment based on race, gender, sexuality, nationality, religion, disability, or any other personal trait is strictly prohibited.
  3. Hate speech (racism, sexism, homophobia, xenophobia, antisemitism, ableism, antireligious etc.) will result in severe sanctions.

Article 2 — Staff Authority

  1. Staff decisions are final and must be respected.
  2. Avoiding or evading staff confrontation (e.g. logging off, ignoring) is not allowed.
  3. “Staff-shopping” (going to another staff member for a different ruling) is forbidden.
    1. If you believe a staff ruling was unfair, you may appeal through the designated system.

Article 3 — Honesty & Fair Play

  1. Players must not lie to staff or other community members in OOC contexts.
  2. Creating false reports or fabricating evidence is prohibited.
  3. Loop-holing or exploiting wording of rules against their intent is forbidden. This is called common sense.

Article 4 — Advertising & External Links

  1. Advertising other servers or unrelated communities in TRP spaces is not allowed.
  2. Exceptions may only be granted with explicit staff approval.

Article 5 — Language Use

  1. In public chat channels, only English is permitted. You may, however, crack jokes or anything friendly in other languages if desired.
  2. Excessive use of other languages must be restricted to private chats.

Article 6 — Mature Topics

  1. NSFW, extremist, or otherwise inappropriate topics are not permitted in OOC spaces.
  2. In-character representation of mature themes must always follow RP rules and community standards.

Article 7 — Privacy & Security

  1. Sharing another player’s personal information (“doxxing”) is strictly forbidden.
  2. Threatening to expose personal information is treated with equal severity.
  3. If harassment occurs through third-party platforms, block the offender and report it to TRP staff.
  4. Whether a situation happened on a TRP-related platform or not does not matter — if a member of the TRP community is endangered in any manner, the staff will take action.

Article 8 — Responsibility to Report

  1. Players are required to report serious rule violations they witness.
  2. Choosing to ignore or enable misconduct may result in consequences.

Article 9 — Spamming & Disruption

  1. Spam of any form (text, symbols, or voice disruption) is forbidden.
  2. Flooding chats or repeating identical messages excessively is considered spamming.

Article 10 — Appeals & Reports

  1. Players who wish to contest a punishment or accusation must use the official Sanctioning System.
  2. The Sanctioning System is handled separately from moderation to ensure fairness and transparency.
  3. Final decisions made through the Sanctioning System must be respected.

Article 11 — Community Platforms

  1. All TRP platforms (Discord, wiki, IC social media, etc.) are subject to these conduct rules.
  2. Content that is NSFW, offensive, or unsafe is prohibited.
  3. Face reveals, personal images, or other real-life identity exposure are not allowed, except with explicit responsibility and agreement of the person.

Article 12 — Sanction Enforcement

  1. Attempts to bypass punishments (alternate accounts, VPNs, rejoining under new identity) will result in permanent bans.
  2. Severity of sanctions (warning, temporary ban, permanent ban) will depend on the seriousness and frequency of violations.
